We’re thrilled to be able to now recognise that all of the first edition Community Kit Bags that were adopted by our own Trust, North Tees and Hartlepool over ten years ago now, are still in use out in the community and have well and truly stood the test of time. All of the kit bag systems that were first to come off the production line are still being used to the best of their ability by our community nursing teams, proving their longevity and they have no sign of needing to be replaced any time soon.
The Community Kit Bag has many USPs that have lead to it reaching award-winning status over the past year, but the longevity of the kit bag system is one of the main features that set it apart from the rest. When you purchase a Community Kit Bag, you actually purchase six different bags. The original blue bag that is taken inside the patient’s home, a black bag that stays in the boot of your car and four coloured insert bags to hold all of your stock. Each of these bags are manufactured from antimicrobial material with robust sealed zip tracks allowing them to be incredibly sturdy and guarantee to last you an extreme length of time.
In addition, rubber grips and a full rubberised cover is built into the back and the bottom of the bag which is used and moved the most, the blue bag, to ensure the it doesn’t slide around when in operation. This also vows to extend the bag’s life as it has additional protection from the floor and any harmful surfaces it may brush past which tends to initiate tearing and the development of holes in the outer of the bag.
The Community Kit Bag has currently been adopted by 26 NHS Trusts, and we have had no reports of any problems regarding breakage or damage of a system due to the manufacture once it’s been in use. We’d be happy to demonstrate the points mentioned here in more detail via an in-person meeting or via a teams call, please get in touch here to chat with one of our team.
