This year the Community Kit Bag has reached new and exciting heights. With the system being rolled out in our parent NHS Trust, North Tees and Hartlepool, over a decade ago, it’s amazing to see that it is still making an impact on community nursing teams globally.
One of the highlights of every year for the Community Kit Bag Team is the conferences and on-site visits we attend, as it enables us to showcase the system and meet so many great nurses. This year we were lucky enough to headline sponsor the National Performance Advisory Group [NPAG] Conference once again and attend the inaugural Nursing Live too. Going to these events provide invaluable opportunities to inherit feedback from nurses who already use the bags and also chat to those who are interested in introducing them to their professional practice. It allows our team to listen to positive insights about how the Community Kit Bag can assists nurses with organisation, cost-saving and enhancing patient care.
In response to the vital feedback we’ve had from nurses, in the past year we have also added additional accessories to our full Community Kit Bag range. We have added a divider for better organisation of stock, a thermal pouch for temperature-controlled goods and a kneeling pad. As well as these new accessories, we’ve also introduced a small blue bag and a large black bag. We’ve listened and analysed the crucial feedback from the Trusts currently using the system, and a frequent message was that the original blue bag is heavy and the original black bag needs to hold more stock. So the new blue bag is significantly smaller and lighter in weight, and the black bag allows for an extra two insert bags to be stored inside.
We are pleased to say that the Community Kit Bag has been introduced in even more NHS Trusts and organisations over the last year, taking our current count to over 40 adopters which is incredible. We love receiving pictures and feedback from the teams who are currently using the bags so if you are one of those teams, please don’t hesitate to send your pictures on socials at @CommunityKitBag.
