award winning community kit bag for nurses

We are extremely excited to share the news that we’ve recently won an award and been shortlisted for another! Our incredible Community Kit Bag innovation won Bronze in the ‘Best Product Development’ at the UK Business Awards and it has also been shortlisted for the ‘Primary and Community Care Innovation of the Year’ at the HSJ Awards, an award previously won by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG for their palliative care telephone service. This milestone is partly thanks to our wonderful PR partner, Wolfstar PR, who assisted us in putting forward exceptionally strong submission.

If you aren’t familiar with the Community Kit Bag, it is an innovation designed by district nurses enabling them to be able to store everything they need in one luggage system when they are visiting patients in their own homes. The innovation has become extremely popular within several UK NHS Trusts adopting the system, and it has even had interest from overseas, proving that it is still going from strength to strength.

The UK Business Awards are nationally recognised and we competed against many well-established businesses in the ‘best product development’ category, so we were delighted to place in Bronze position. We had to present the bag virtually in an attempt to impress the judges and fortunately, they were thrilled with the position of the innovation. Our presentation was a success and one of the judges commented that it was a “good illustration of the bag, how it is constructed and what makes it so effective… I am excited to see how the product is utilised across the UK and around the world as more countries see its value”. The HSJ – Healthcare Service Journal – Awards are one of the most prestigious awards in healthcare within the UK and for us to be shortlisted for one is amazing news! HSJ Awards ‘are not just a celebration of success stories but also a platform to shape the future of the NHS’, which means if we win, the Community Kit Bag would gain even more national recognition which would most certainly boost the credibility and success of the innovation. Fingers crossed!
